Late in 2011 we spent two days at Lake Mungo, part of the Willandra Lakes area of western NSW. We met with local Indigenous people and Professor Jim Bowler who discovered the remains of Mungo woman in 1969 – and so the mysteries of Lake Mungo had surfaced after some 50 000 years:
Who was Mungo woman?
How could Aboriginal people have lived in this desert?
What happened to the megafauna that once roamed this land?
What do these discoveries tell us about the culture and beliefs of Aboriginal people?
We are currently completing a new Australian History Mystery that will help you to solve some of the mysteries of Lake Mungo. Watch this site for updates.
