The team at Ryebuck Media are proud winners of the 2011 Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) Awards in the category of Best Learning & Education.
The award was for the primary and secondary elements of the resource produced by Ryebuck Media for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs as part of the Australian Government’s Commemorations program.
Gallipoli and the Anzacs is the secondary (years 9-11) classroom resource that helps students to understand and explore ANZAC Day – a significant event in Australia’s national history and identity. Students use an inquiry methodology – investigating for themselves through the use of a variety of evidence and perspectives.
Investigating Gallipoli is the primary level (years 4-6) component of the resource. It takes a very different approach, asking students to explore images, stories and artefacts from the war, and use these to complete their own story-book style narrative of the events. This approach develops knowledge and understanding, and also empathy.
We thank AIMIA and its sponsors of the awards ceremony held in Sydney on 18 March 2011.
